When I was a kid I remember every few months my mom would move all of the furniture in the house around.
These moments were bigger than moving furniture around. Suddenly it felt like we were in a brand new house. The energy had shifted and we were ready for something new.
So many of us are conditioned to understand work as a never ending sacrifice. It creates a need to give more and more to work. It never feels like enough, and the cost often isn’t clear until later. And chances are that if you’re reading these words - there’s a little window of possibility in you that may be willing to at least consider doing things differently.
I started my business in 2014, at the dawn of the “girl boss” era. During this time, we embraced the personal brand in full force. Suddenly, there was an opportunity to infuse your personality into your business. Somewhere along the way, the lines got far too blurry. It became harder to recognize where your business ended and where you began.
Twelve times a year I sit down and check-in on how it's going. I look back at my goals. I reflect, reimagine, acknowledge myself, and adjust where needed. I've come to see them as a unit that sets me up for the month in a beautiful way that I can clearly look back on.
